SICKENING TREES
Most of the outside world is melancholy
The rustle of green leaves
Bustling bees
Some would say:
“Gorgeous, a new day! “
But all I can think of is the nourishment
You see winter is taking
Unforgiving, breaking
The slender trees cry
“Set me free!”
And it’s all a miserable dream
But for me, it’s peaceful
How perfectly stormy the sky seems
Like those grey eyes people deny
Like a wet stone in the cold
Because cold is just cold
I can’t feel it any more than it is
If my mouth is bleeding ice
And my hands a thick brick
Then I know that the clouds are feeling nice
